Yin yoga is a slow-paced, passive type of yoga that incorporates long holds in postures and deep breaths to facilitate a stretch that can sometimes feel quite intense. During this class, you can expect to hold postures anywhere between 3-5 minutes. As you hold stillness, the body will naturally begin to surrender and encourage a release of tension and stress working deeply in the connective tissue and joints of your body. We provide blocks and straps to support the body in postures on the floor that calm the nervous system, relax the muscles, and begin to still the outer and inner self. Long Yin yoga holds are also known to release repressed or stored emotions, leaving the yogi feeling lighter, clearer and completely relaxed. This class also i a great balance for and helps to deepens Yang styles of yoga, such as all of our Hot and Warm classes. All levels are welcome.
